On the occasion of the Protocol awareness workshop held in Panamá City from 22-24 April 2015 the Government of Panama made a generous contribution to the work of the Convention Secretariat.
Health Minister Francisco Javier Terrientes has noted the importance of the WHO FCTC global work and expressed his satisfaction with the progress the region is making in countering the epidemic. Panama is one of the leading Parties in implementing the WHOFCTC and has reduced drastically the use of tobacco aiming to reach less than 5% adults prevalence soon.
