On 18 December, the Convention Secretariat and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding under which UICC, through its McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer, will perform the functions of a WHO FCTC knowledge hub on matters within the Centre's expertise, in particular legal challenges to implementation of the WHO FCTC.
The McCabe Centre, a joint initiative of UICC and its member organization, Cancer Council Victoria, based in Melbourne, Australia, will support the Convention Secretariat in facilitating the exchange of information and cooperation between Parties to the WHO FCTC in relation to these matters.
