Overview
Viral haemorrhagic fevers (VHF) are severe and life-threatening viral diseases that are of particular public health importance because they can spread within a hospital setting, have a high case-fatality rate and are difficult to recognize and detect rapidly.
The purpose of this pocketbook is to provide clear guidance on current best management practices for VHF across health-care facilities. The main sections include:
- Principles of VHF management
- Management of suspected or confirmed cases of Ebola patients
- Manage severe confirmed or suspected cases of Ebola, or VHF
- Psychological support
