Georgia WHO FCTC Needs Assessment

Overview

Georgia ratified the WHO FCTC on 14 February 2006 and it entered into force for Georgia on 15 May 2006. A needs assessment exercise for implementation of the WHO FCTC was conducted jointly by the Government of Georgia and the Convention Secretariat from March to June 2013, including the initial analysis of the status, challenges and potential needs deriving from the country’s most recent implementation report and other sources of information.An international team led by the Convention Secretariat which also included representatives of the WHO Office in Georgia, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Bank conducted the mission in Georgia together with the representatives of the Government from 3 to 10 June 2013.
