Pakistan WHO FCTC Needs Assessment

Overview

Pakistan ratified the WHO FCTC 3 November 2004, the 35th country in the world and the 3rd country in the Eastern Mediterranean Region to become a Party to the Convention. The Convention entered into force Pakistan on 27 February 2005. An international team, led by the Convention Secretariat and representatives of the WHO Prevention of Noncommunicable Diseases Department and the United Nations Development Programme, conducted a mission in Pakistan from 14 to 17 March 2017. The assessment involved relevant ministries and agencies of Pakistan.
