Sudan WHO FCTC Needs Assessment

Overview

The Federal Minister of Health of Sudan requested the Secretariat of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) to conduct a needs assessment exercise for the implementation of the WHO FCTC jointly with the Government of Sudan. This exercise included the initial status analysis, challenges and potential needs deriving from the country’s most recent implementation report and other sources of information. This was followed by a country mission which took place from 19-22 March 2018. The WHO country office in Sudan, the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) participated in this joint exercise led by the Convention Secretariat.
