Suriname WHO FCTC Needs Assessment

Overview

Suriname signed the WHO FCTC on 24 June 2004 and ratified the WHO FCTC on 16 December 2008. The Convention Secretariat together with PAHO and UNDP had planned to conduct a joint needs assessment exercise during the FCTC 2030 inception mission to Suriname which was to take place in the week of the 30th of March 2020. Given the COVID-19 pandemic the mission had to be cancelled. This needs assessment report has been prepared virtually with information gathered from different sources and conversations held with different actors.
