Thailand WHO FCTC Needs Assessment

Overview

Thailand signed the WHO FCTC on 20 June 2003 and ratified it on 08 November 2004. The desk review for the needs assessment exercise was conducted jointly by the Government of Thailand and the Convention Secretariat from May to June 2023. This included the initial analysis of the status, challenges and potential needs deriving from the country’s WHO FCTC implementation reports and other sources of information. An international team led by the Convention Secretariat which also included representatives of the WHO Country Office in Thailand, the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Article 5.3, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Regional Hub for Asia and the Pacific, and UNDP Thailand Country Office, conducted a mission in Thailand from 12 to 16 June 2023.
