Three workshops were organized: Ecuador, Manila and Cape Town The outcome of the workshops were:

Effective strategies on tax reforms and legislation, as well sharing lessons learned from the providers’ experiences on multi-sectoral involvement.

Enhanced institutional capacities of participating countries to improve tax systems.

Provided opportunities for learning from other countries’ experiences on earmarking taxes for tobacco control and/or public health programs.

Co-developing innovative ideas to increase effectiveness of advocacy for tobacco taxation/tax changes.

Development of proposed fiscal measures to be implemented in each recipient country.
